King's Corner Project: Theatre Industry Course
Almeida Projects is once again working with Islington-based youth project, King's Corner Project, leading a series of workshops as part of their Theatre Industry Course.
King's Corner Project's Theatre Industry Course is designed for young people interested in a career in the performing arts sector. The Almeida-led element aims to develop participants' knowledge of the range of roles and opportunities within the theatre industry. It also aims to help participants gain confidence as performers and a good understanding of the discipline necessary to foster a group working dynamic when creating a performance.
Participants will watch the first half of the Almeida Theatre's current production, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and take part in an introductory workshop relating to the show. They will also take part in an intensive, half-day workshop where they will have the opportunity to meet with Almeida Theatre professionals and learn about their roles within the theatre. Other workshops will focus on devising a piece of theatre inspired by the first half of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, drawing on the participants' experience and interests, either by creating a ‘new’ second act or by putting a new person on trial.
