Play-in-a-Day

Thursday 29 May 2008

8 hours of creative genius at the Almeida Theatre!

Working with professionals from the Almeida Theatre, and in only 8 hours, 10 Young Friends of the Almeida devised a play entirely from scratch and performed it on the Almeida Theatre stage at the end of the day to friends, family and Almeida staff.

Taking the broad theme of 'difference' as their starting point, the group explored through performance what happens to friendships and family relationships when opposing opinions clash.

Artistic Director Michael Attenborough said of the final performance: "I was very, very impressed by what you produced - not just for eight hours' work, but as a piece of theatre in itself.  Do you want to perform it again tonight?!"
