Our mission statement and vision


The Almeida Theatre's mission statement includes: 

  • To produce an eclectic programme of classical and contemporary plays drawn from world drama to the highest possible standards.

Hiring the theatre

 

If you would like to hire the Almeida Theatre please send an email to info@almeida.co.uk. Hiring of the auditorium is always subject to the restrictions of the current productions set design and timings.

 

Ticket refunds and exchanges

 

Tickets can be exchanged for a different date within the same production (subject to availability). Please note we require at least two days notice to exchange tickets. If there is no alternative date that you are able to attend the performance we can try and re-sell your tickets (if we have sold all other tickets first). We do not offer refunds on tickets except in the case of a cancelled performance, where a full refund will be offered. Any tickets bought online are non-refundable and non-transferable as per our terms and conditions.

Online booking problems

 

Please contact us if you are having problems booking tickets online, or if you are unsure whether your booking has been processed, please email internetbookings@almeida.co.uk. where we can check that the booking has been successful. 

 

Alternatively, call the Box Office between 10am and 6pm, Monday to Saturday on 020 7359 4404 and one of our Box Office assistants will assist you.

 

Past production programmes

Past production programmes are available at a cost of £3.00, including postage. Please email info@almeida.co.uk with the name of the production or write to us enclosing a cheque made out to 'Almeida Theatre'. Please note that these are subject to availability.

 

Photography

 

If you have an enquiry regarding photography and usage, please email marketing@almeida.co.uk with a detailed request and we will do our best to assist you

Work Placements

The Almeida will consider requests for work placements in the following ways:

  • By application to the Almeida via the new Work Placement application form (details will be available at the end of March 2010) 
  • By responding to an advert produced by the Almeida 

The Almeida prioritises applications from local young people and adults, whether currently in full time education or not.

 

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications by anyone under the age of 16 in accordance with the Almeida's Child Protection Policy 2004.

 

The Almeida Theatre does not run a voluntary scheme. Voluntary opportunities are through work placements (please see above).

Assistant Director positions


The Almeida Theatre offers one paid Assistant Director placement on each production
. To be considered for a placement please send a covering letter detailing why you would like to work as an assistant director at the Almeida Theatre and your CV to:

Owing to the volume of interest, we are not able to meet all those who contact us but we will acknowledge receipt of your CV and letter and you will be contacted if any suitable opportunities become available. We value a diverse team and welcome applications from all sectors of the community.

 

Acting / Casting Enquries


The Almeida does not have a casting department and each production is cast using a freelance casting director.  If you would like to be considered in an acting role one of our productions please email info@almeida.co.uk giving details the production you wish to be considered for, and we will give you the appropriate contact.

 

Youth Theatre

 

Almeida Projects run a number of initiatives and

programmes with schools within the Borough of Islington. Please see our Projects section for further information for more information or resources that may be of interest.

 

Scripts

 

The Almeida does not have a literary department and subsequently is unable to read unsolicited scripts. If you have written a script, we suggest you contact Soho Theatre & Writers Centre or the Royal Court as they may be able to help you.
