What is the Almeida Academy?
Almeida Academy is a programme of Saturday drama classes for children and young people aged 5 to 14.
Run by industry professionals from a world-class theatre, the Almeida Academy gives children and young people the opportunity to experiment with their creativity, build confidence, develop talent, and most importantly, have fun!
"It’s really quite unique, you get to learn about scripts, about what really happens in drama and I think the teachers are really nice." - Participant, 9
"I love the Almeida Academy because it gives me confidence
to act." - Participant, 13
What happens in the classes?
Don't worry if you haven't tried it before, our sessions are open to everybody. Group sizes are small so that we can help each individual develop. Classes last an hour and a half and will offer a variety of different activities for developing performance skills.
During the course of the year, there will be opportunities for the work of the Almeida Academy to be performed to an audience.
