Young Friends of the Almeida Theatre
How can you stay involved with the Almeida Theatre after you have finished a project with us in your school or college?
As a recent or past participant in an Almeida project, you are invited to become a Young Friend of the Almeida Theatre. As a Young Friend of the Almeida you must be between 15 and 21 years old (or 25 if in full time education).
What are the benefits of being a Young Friend of the Almeida Theatre?
- An invitation to come and see all Almeida Theatre shows on Happy Mondays evenings for just £3 (this cost includes a complimentary pre-show workshop and a programme – an absolute bargain!) Happy Mondays evenings are generally on the first Monday of every show run.
- An invitation to take part in a Play-in-a-Day event linked to every show (these will take place on a Saturday during the run of each show and are FREE).
- An invitation to take part in holiday residencies where you will have the opportunity to work with professional theatre makers from the Almeida Theatre, and work on performing a short piece of theatre (on the Almeida Theatre’s main stage – time and space permitting). There will be 3 residencies each year – one in the first week of the summer holidays; one in the October half term and one in the February half term. Again, these residencies are FREE.
- Invitations to Career Workshops – learn about what goes on behind the scenes in the theatre industry, rather than just on stage. Again, these will be FREE.
- Invitations to Almeida Young Forum events (one per show) – an opportunity to feedback and discuss Almeida shows and Projects with the Theatre’s Creative Team.
- Invitations to any other bespoke events that might be relevant to you.
