SICK!
Argan domineers his family from the comfort of his wheelchair. The healthiest and nastiest invalid in history wants a new Daddy and what Argan wants Argan gets. And Argan wants the ghastly Doctor Purgon to marry his mother, Angelique.
Only Toinette, a teenager wise and witty beyond her years, sees through her brother's "skivilitis". It's down to her to come up with a scheme to expose the phoneys and show her brother who it is who really loves him.
SICK!
was one of our biggest and most ambitious projects to date - a new version of Moliere's The Hypochondriac, written especially for Islington eleven year olds in collaboration with local sixth form students.
SICK! played to over 600 local Year Seven students in October 2005 and then went on tour round Islington, taking in 3 schools and involving another 700 students. Over 200 of those - at Highbury Grove School - took part in a series of interactive drama, design and music workshops and some were involved in our final production of the play - to an audience of 100 Year Six students from local primary schools.
SICK! subsequently toured to schools in Islington, with students from Highbury Grove School contributing to the touring production through their music, drama and art classes.
