Legacies

Leaving a gift in your Will

Leaving a legacy is a very special way of ensuring that your tradition of support for the Almeida Theatre continues for years to come, allowing us to provide enriching theatrical experiences which will engage future generations.

A legacy does not have to be a large gift; every penny helps and no amount is too small. Legacies are also important tax effective devices if your estate is worth more than the inheritance tax threshold.

There are three main ways to support the Almeida Theatre in your will:

• A Residuary Legacy – this is a share or percentage of your estate left after you have provided for your loved ones.
• A Pecuniary Legacy – this is a fixed amount of money
• Specific gifts/bequests – such as property, stocks or shares or personal possessions

If you already have a Will

If you would like to make a gift to the Almeida Theatre, you can make an addition to your Will. This is called a Codicil and should be simple and inexpensive to arrange through your solicitor.

If you don't yet have a Will

The best way to make a Will is to seek professional  advice from a solicitor or legal advisor. If you don't have a solicitor, ask a friend, family member or bank manager to recommend one, or check a telephone directory. For legal reasons the Almeida Theatre is unable to make a recommendation.

Suggested wording of the Will
