From February 2009, The Almeida Theatre is participating in the A Night Less Ordinary ticket scheme.
So, you want to go to the theatre, it’s free – if you are 16 – 25 years!
In London the Almeida Theatre, Battersea Arts Centre, Bush Theatre, Donmar Warehouse, Greenwich Theatre, Hampstead Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith, Royal Court, Soho Theatre, Theatre Royal Stratford East, Tricycle Theatre and the Young Vic have all joined together to offer you a choice of truly great nights out at the theatre.
How old do I have to be?
Anyone aged 25 or under at the time of the show is eligible for a free ticket but check with individual theatres for specific age guidance and any restrictions for particular shows.
How can you get these tickets?
1) You must be aged 16 to 25 years at the time of the show.
2) You can get up to six free tickets per booking for you and your 16 - 25 years friends.
3) Just call the 0207 359 4404 or call into the theatre, unfortunately free tickets are not available online.
4) The only condition is that you provide your name, a full UK residential address, your date of birth and/or a mobile phone number or e-mail address when you book (we won’t accept hotel or hostel addresses, just your home address).
5) We’ll also sign you up to an email or SMS list so that you can get more information about shows and other ticket offers at these theatres.
6) Tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability (there may also be age restrictions for some shows).
What happens then?
7) You’ll need to collect your free tickets on the day of the performance [no later than 30 minutes beforehand].
8) We’ll need to see proof of age for everybody in your booking who’s using a free ticket:
A driving licence
A valid passport
A birth certificate
PASS-approved card
16-25 Railcard
Please note that a NUS (or NUS Extra card) will not be accepted as proof of age, as it does not have a photograph on it.
9) Tickets can’t be transferred to someone else and will only be issued to the person who booked (on production of ID).
10) If you don’t collect your tickets and haven’t let the theatre know, you may not be allowed to use this scheme at this theatre or the others listed above.
What happens if I want to go to the theatre again?
11) You can only get one free ticket per year at the Almeida Theatre, but after that you can either:
a. Get a free ticket at another of the theatres listed.
b. Take advantage of our £15 tickets for people aged 25 and under.
c. Or take advantage of the discounts for people 25 and under available at all of these theatres – which will be no more than £10 each and as little as £3 at some.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
