Philanthropy

Share our vision

Our small auditorium, even when sold out, can only ever provide 40% of the funding we need to operate. As a registered charity, each year we must raise at least £2m in addition to our Box Office income and the small annual subsidy we receive from the Arts Council England.

The power of philanthropic support plays an essential role in making the Almeida possible, and has a transformative impact on our work. Individual donations are critical to each and every aspect of our theatre, and have the ability to make a real and tangible difference to what we can achieve.

The generosity of our donors allows us to develop our artistic programme with confidence, empowering us to create extraordinary home-grown theatre that takes risks, reflects our life and times, and creates inspiring experiences on and off the stage.

In particular, our Major Donors offer leadership philanthropic support, providing the financial underpinning to launch new creative initiatives, plan fearlessly for future years, seize exciting new opportunities when they arise, and confront unanticipated challenges, all the while forging a personal and enduring relationship with the theatre, our executive management, and the artists we work with.

For more information on how you can play a key role at the Almeida, please contact the Development Team on 020 7288 4930 or email Gemma Cook, Development Director, on gcook@almeida.co.uk.
