Join Yasmin Hafesji, Assistant Director on The Tragedy of Macbeth, to explore the world of the play focusing on conceptual ideas and how the production elements of sound, lighting and scenography support the rich imagery of this production.

Yasmin Hafesji

Assistant Director

Yasmin Hafesji is a director and dramaturg. She is Associate Director at the Gate Theatre and was a member of the Young Vic Introduction to Directing Programme 2017, led by Natalie Abrahami.

Theatre as director includes: The Letters Project (Gate Theatre, Co-Director); LETTERS (Gate Theatre Online, Co-Director); Rhino(s) (Lyric Evolution Festival, Lyric Hammersmith); Rashida (Fresh Direction: Replay Project, Young Vic); Two Heads and a Hand & The Jokers (Shubbak Festival, Gate Theatre); A Little Iraqi (The Upsetters Takeover Festival, Bunker Theatre); Watch Me Dance! (White City Youth Theatre Summer Project, Bush Theatre); Young Writers Group Showcase (Bush Theatre, Studio).

Theatre as dramaturg includes: Omeros (Staged Reading, Gate Theatre)

Theatre as assistant director includes: Women Beware Women (Shakespeare’s Globe); Fairview (Young Vic); Dear Elizabeth (Gate Theatre); The Mob Reformers (Lyric Hammersmith).
