production information

This free masterclass is exclusively for those aged 25 and under as part of Almeida For Free.

Join Olivier Award-winning director Miranda Cromwell as she shares insights into her process as a director.

This masterclass will be a practical session on how to direct and stage non-conventional text for theatre, inspired by approaches used when staging and breathe... It is open to all those interested in directing, with all levels of experience welcome.

Participants will need to wear comfortable clothes and bring a piece of text that you would like to explore. It could be poetry, an extract of a book, something you have written, a news report or message thread. During the workshop you will look at the possible ways to adapt and stage these texts.

Miranda was recently the co-director on the Young Vic's Death of a Salesman for which she received an Olivier Award for Best Director. She has also directed Rockets and Blue Lights at the Manchester Royal Exchange, and been Associate Director on Company, Angels in America, and A Monster Calls.
